The 1990s was a boom time for he comic book industry and more people than ever before began reading and collecting comic books. As the interest grew so to did the amount of comics flooding the market. Much like the Baseball card market comics were going to make us all rich as we scooped up and collected as many as possible. Of course neither collectible market panned out for a variety of reasons. Here's a listing of the Top 10 Comic Books from the 90s:
- X-Men #1 - Marvel Comics teamed up with Jim Lee to break comic book records.
- Astro City #1 - Kurk Busiek broke ground and created a series that saw each issue as a new story.
- Daredevil #1 - Marvel Knights and Joe Quesada teamed up to reinvent the Daredevil hero and still keep fans happy.
- Mutants #87 - Marvels first introduction of Cable an X-Men character turned this issue into must have for big collectors.
- Superman #75 - This was one of the biggest buzz building events ever in the industry, the death of Superman.
- Spider-Man #1 - Marvel along with Todd McFarlene and Spider-Man smashed sales records and lead to Image comics.
- Spawn #1 - Todd McFarlene's first creation after leaving Marvel, this is the book that started it all.
- Marvels #1 - Marvel introduced a different theme and spent tons of money trying to pump of this series.
- Harbinger #1 - One of the hottest issues for the entire decade, Harbinger is an epic classic.
- Solar #0 - Considered the best single issue of the 90's.
