"TRANSFORM" Your Christmas....

Into one of fun and pure joy!!

One of my favorite gifts to receive at Christmas time are movies, specifically DVD's. I love movies, I watch them all time at home and I go as often as possible to the theaters.

One of my favorites from this year was The Transformers. Did you see this one? It's a fantastic, cinematic ride directed by Michael Bay, also of Bad Boys and Armageddon fame. If you haven't seen one of his movies yet I highly recommend it. He's all about Hollywood-style BIG, big special and visual effects, big larger-than-life characters and big action with panoramic shots that always leave you slightly out of breath and very excited! Back in 2006 when they started previewing the movie I knew it was going to be a blast and the huge fan base would not be disappointed; they are hardcore fans!

Michael Bay did a phenomenal job bringing those transforming robots to life in our theaters and now that's it out on DVD you can have it in your own living room too.

I know what I'm going to be asking for this Christmas!

The Transformation of Bumblebee and Megan Fox!

When Bumblebee first appeared on the tv screen back in 1984, he was a simple, cute little yellow Volkswagen Beetle. His first generation Transformer figure was one of the favorites right from the start. He always appeared close to Optimus Prime and also seemed to have the closest relationship with any humans that appeared in the show.  If you are too young to recall the earlier episodes of the Japanese series in the mid-80's, I've included images of the young Bumblebee.

If we now fast-forward to 2007 and the year that the latest Transformers Movie came out, Bumblebee makes two different 'Transformations' - vastly different from any of his usual robot-to-car transformation. When Bumblebee first appears in the movie, he has made the transformation from Volkswagen Beetle to Chevy Camaro. His second transformation comes shortly thereafter when he transforms from a 1967 Camaro to a brand new 2008 Camaro.

For those of you who have seen the Transformer Movie, there was only one thing in that movie better looking than Bumblebee. No, not Optimus Prime, Megatron or any of the other robots, the best looking part of that movie is Megan Fox. Megan shows off her impressive assets throughout the movie and if that hot yellow Camaro could not get any hotter, it certainly does with Megan Fox in it.

Get Transformer Optimus Prime to Call All Your Friends

Want to strong arm your friends and family to pick up the Transformers Movie DVD when it hits stores on October 16th?  Well, you won't have to convince them because you can have Optimus Prime do all the talking (em convincing).

Robots Are Now Affordable - Wowwee Robopanda

For the longest time I've wanted to buy a interactive robot and give it to my son as a present.  But for a variety of reasons I've never found one that was affordable and/or has the right functionality.   I've been researching and reading up on the new Wowwee Robopanda and so far it looks promising. 

The Robopanda is a talkative, interactive robotic panda friend for kids.   Each one has an engaging personality and bright animated eyes, can share stories and jokes, play games, sing songs, and can chat with children.  The Robopanda bear can even crawl and then returns to a sitting position, it can even give hugs.  So it will make teddy bears obsolete and it won't crap on my floors.  This could be the solution to the never ending "I want a dog". 

The Robopanda is controlled directly by touch and sound, with eight touch sensors and a sonic sensor located throughout his body. When you touch its head he'll respond with a nod.  If you pick him up he'll giggle and ask for a ride.  It seems for the price Robopanda's advanced artificial intelligence and awareness will keep my kids attention, heck maybe it'll even replace me.  The bear even knows how to track objects with his eyes and avoid obstacles.  Pretty cool, I'm thinking of picking one up and if I do I'll post a full review.  If anyone has one please post a comment or send me an email at matt (DOT) williams (AT) getitnext.com.
