Heineken Walk in Fridge Is a Winner

Heineken really out did themselves with their new Walk In Fridge/Closet commerical.  The only thing they did wrong is not use this spot during the super bowl, it would have been money well spent.  Check it out and let me know what you think.

McDonalds Filet O' Fish Spot Is Addictive

I have to give McDonald's some props for their Filet of Fish commercial.  This catchy tv spot has my kids are singing the song out loud, it causes me to actually watch it instead of fast forwarding my tivo and I can't get the song out of my head.  In case you haven't caught it, check out the link to the video:

Twitter What I'm Not Doing

Folks I've tried, I know its all the craze these days but I just don't get the appeal of twittering.  I can't get into it, I can't see myself posting useless info or even the appeal in reading that my friends are driving in their car, taking a deuce or attending a conference.  Maybe now that I'm in my mid 30's I'm turning into an old fogey, there I admit it.   Anyone else feel the same way about twitter?   For those of you who are twitter haters or fans I leave you with this:

Google eBay War Heating Up?

Google_ebay I'm sure some of you remember the cold war that started in June between eBay and Google.  C'mon you remember, Google (Checkout) tried poaching eBay (Paypal) users at its own conference, 2007 eBay Live.  eBay pulled all its advertising off of google and google blinked and relented.

Well I'm not sure if this is tied to Google or not but it appears someone with deep pockets is up to some deceptive practices with google ad words by posting ads that say they are the official eBay site however when you click on them they take you to amazon.  The plot thickens because this is only happening on google and not yahoo, its also the top ad word position so whoever is running these ads are spending some big bucks.  Check out Ina Steiner's blog over at AuctionBytes for more details as she tries to figure this one out.

Simpsonize Me Lame and Buggy DOH!

Simpsonize_rudy_gulianiIn order to promote the new Simpson's movie, Burger King and Fox created what they hoped to be an awesome Simpson's campaign called Simpsonizeme.  The concept of the site is to allow users to upload a photo of themselves and get simpsonized.  The simpsonsizeme site analyzes your face, transforming people into citizens of the fictional Springfield.  Thus allowing people to create their own unique Simpsons Characters just like the guest stars on the popular tv show, ala Rudy Giuliani, Bono from U2, Natalie Portman, LeBron James, Yao Ming, James Caan, Tony Hawk and countless other celebs.

Unfortunately, I tried doing a couple of funny pics for this blog and my simpsonized results are lousy.  The page is getting hammered with traffic so if you're lucky enough to get on, then you have to have a very specific size photo with a white background and then if it uploads your file after taking an eternity to load it still might reject the file and not allow you to simpsonize yourself.  Even the end product that was produced after about 45 minutes on the simpsonizeme returned a photo that didn't resemble the original.  Oh well, another great viral marketing campaign that didn't meet its potential, so much for make your own simpson.   I wonder if Bart or Homer was doing the coding?  I'll give it another shot tomorrow.  If you guys have any better results please drop me a comment.

If you want some great laughs check out these funny simpsons shirts.

Check out these Simpsons movie reviews.
