Heineken really out did themselves with their new Walk In Fridge/Closet commerical. The only thing they did wrong is not use this spot during the super bowl, it would have been money well spent. Check it out and let me know what you think.
I have to give McDonald's some props for their Filet of Fish commercial. This catchy tv spot has my kids are singing the song out loud, it causes me to actually watch it instead of fast forwarding my tivo and I can't get the song out of my head. In case you haven't caught it, check out the link to the video:
Jeremy Schoemaker aka Shoemoney for those of you not in the know is auctioning off free ad space on his body. Shoe will be attending the up coming Affiliate Summit West and he is willing to wear your company logo shirt for all 3 days and 3 nights of the conference and parties. Basically he's auctioning off product placement and guarenteeing a ton of exposure. The bidding ends on Dec 29th and the auction is currently at $2500. Here is a link to view the action, Jeremy Shoemoney eBay Auction.
Folks I've tried, I know its all the craze these days but I just don't get the appeal of twittering. I can't get into it, I can't see myself posting useless info or even the appeal in reading that my friends are driving in their car, taking a deuce or attending a conference. Maybe now that I'm in my mid 30's I'm turning into an old fogey, there I admit it. Anyone else feel the same way about twitter? For those of you who are twitter haters or fans I leave you with this:
Well I'm not an accountant so don't quote me, but I'm pretty sure you can do both. Here's how: Debbie Levitt from As Was is hosting the only conference where serious eBay sellers can learn about products and services that will help you propel the growth of your eBay business. Debbie has jam packed sessions that will go beyond education (think networking). The classes will include in-depth demonstrations on how to use tools and concepts that will boost your profits. If you attend this conference you can expect everything you typically get with As Was: intense and personalized attention, information and training, and a passion for growing your business, all in a fun and casual environment. Not to mention face time with other top sellers and a long list of guest speakers, check out the agenda and speakers. If you're a Gold or higher eBay seller I highly suggest you attend this event to help maintain and boost your profits.
Event Details: The event is at Disney's Yacht Club Resort in Walt Disney World®, Florida, Thursday 28 Feb 2008 @ 9am - Saturday 1 March 2008 @ 1:30pm. Attendees will enjoy the luxuries of a deluxe resort combined with the fun of Walt Disney World®. Click here for more details on the As Was Conference.
I'm sure some of you remember the cold war that started in June between eBay and Google. C'mon you remember, Google (Checkout) tried poaching eBay (Paypal) users at its own conference, 2007 eBay Live. eBay pulled all its advertising off of google and google blinked and relented.
Well I'm not sure if this is tied to Google or not but it appears someone with deep pockets is up to some deceptive practices with google ad words by posting ads that say they are the official eBay site however when you click on them they take you to amazon. The plot thickens because this is only happening on google and not yahoo, its also the top ad word position so whoever is running these ads are spending some big bucks. Check out Ina Steiner's blog over at AuctionBytes for more details as she tries to figure this one out.
The Olympics are coming...and with it, a chance to buy someone something unique for Christmas.
There are many pins issued by various companies during the prepping of the Olympics but they're usually unavailable to the masses. But, thanks to Get It Next you now have a way to collect some of these rare pins as well. And as I said earlier, they make excellent Christmas presents for the person who collects pins, already has everything else or just likes things to put on their clothes!! Buy them now while they're still available and impress your friends and family...and don't forget the 2008 Beijing Olympics as well!!
Unfortunately, I tried doing a couple of funny pics for this blog and my simpsonized results are lousy. The page is getting hammered with traffic so if you're lucky enough to get on, then you have to have a very specific size photo with a white background and then if it uploads your file after taking an eternity to load it still might reject the file and not allow you to simpsonize yourself. Even the end product that was produced after about 45 minutes on the simpsonizeme returned a photo that didn't resemble the original. Oh well, another great viral marketing campaign that didn't meet its potential, so much for make your own simpson. I wonder if Bart or Homer was doing the coding? I'll give it another shot tomorrow. If you guys have any better results please drop me a comment.
