GetItNext Voted Best eBay Site

I was just over on Listio and discovered that GetItNext is the highest rated site in the eBay category.  The ratings are determined by how many people vote for each site.  We're quite proud of this rating as Listio is one of the most popular directory and product review sites on the web.

GetItNext - eBay Seller of the Day Award

GetItNext is introducing a new blog feature we will be writing each day, the "GetItNext Seller of the Day".  The Seller of the Day will be awarded to sellers that provide value to the eBay community by offering interesting and diverse products, sellers that have a long standing history of quality and customer service, and sellers that we have done business with (i.e. sellers that we like).  It is open to both small and large sellers (diamond level excluded) and is aimed to spotlight exceptional sellers on eBay.  Our goal is to help drive additional traffic to these sellers by highlighting exemplary sellers and encouraging people to check them out.  Sellers will also be able to post the Seller of the Day award on their "off-eBay" websites if they so choose.

How do we find/choose a seller of the day?  The founders of GetItNext have been long time eBay buyers and sellers, most since 1998.  To start, we'll be choosing a lot of our favorite sellers that we have transacted with in the past.  However, many terrific sellers have left eBay so we will be looking for you to help us with suggestions.

GetItNext Announces Its Newest Blogger - Ogie Ogilthorpe

GetItNext would like to introduce our newest blogger, Ogie Ogilthorpe.  Since our blogging is a joint effort amongst the GetItNext team we figured we would start blogging under a pseudonym.  So we thought long and hard to find a name we would be proud over.  After about 30 seconds we arrived at Ogie Ogilthorpe from the legendary hockey movie Slapshot.  We figured since we are a North American team that is comprised mostly of hockey fanatics the name would be fitting.

GetItNext Better Than Google Earth - Voted Top 50 Search Site

I was just poking around over on Listio and decided to see how GetItNext ranked in voting for seach sites.  Low and behold the site is in the top 50 of all searching sites, not too shabby.  We are also ahead of some very popular sites: Yahoo! Buzz, Google Earth, Kijiji,and those guys over at Woot Wine.  Check out the Listio shopping results yourself, Listio search sites.

Big eBay Changes Announced for Sellers - Shipping

The big theme coming out of eBay Devcon 2008 in Chicago is focusing on improving the buyer experience and this means lots of changes for sellers.  I just left a session with Adam Trachtenberg that covered the eBay Product Roadmap, I'll give you some of the high level points for the first topic that impacts sellers, shipping.  Here are some of the upcoming changes to shipping that Adam detailed:

• Return policy MUST be specified
  • even if you have a no returns policy you will have to list it
  • who pays for ship backs
  • not applicable for certain categories
• Handling time, need to list how long it will be till you ship the product so the buyer has an estimate on how long it will take to receive your product.

One question raised was "can you link the paypal shipping system to eBay shipping.  Adam answered that currently the answer is no.

Frequently Asked Questions and Recent Feedback

Q.  Are core and store listing combined on GetItNext?  They appear to be...

A.  GetItNext doesn't differentiate between Core and Store listings on eBay.  We treat all listings exactly the same.  As a result, Core and Store listing are returned in ALL GetItNext Search tabs.

Q.  Will you be adding International eBay sites?

A.  Expanding GetItNext to include International eBay sites is in our plans.  We're currently in the midst of deciding what eBay sites to add first.  We'd love to hear your opinion regarding the International eBay sites that are most important to you.

Q.  GetItNext appears to be a little slow when I tried it for the first time.  Why is that?

A.  The first time that you load GetItNext it will take a little longer to load the page.  However, this is one time only event.  The next time that you load a page or come back to GetItNext you'll notice it takes a lot less time to load a page.  In addition, there are certain times of the day that are slower than others due to heavy volumes on eBay itself. 

Q.  How come you only have 10 listings per page?

A.  In order to balance the speed of GetItNext and number of times that you need to page down to view all of the listings we decided to display 10 items per page.  Let us know how many listings that you'd like us to put on each page and we'll definitely consider adding more listings to each page.

Q.  Why don't you offer Place Offer for fixed price listings?

A.  We are planning to release the Place Offer feature in a future release of GetItNext.

GRAND THEFT AUTO IV

Rockstar games has finally launched some trailers for the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto IV. Much like the other games it will be a game where you try to get yourself to the top of the "underworld" and you stomp anyone who tries to stop you. However unlike the other games which gave you an almost God View of your surrounding this game will have the camera angle right at ground level almost in a third person view.  The thing that blows me away most about this game is the vast improvement in the graphics. This game appears to have characters that are very life like that will make for a much more enjoyable playing experience.  My favorite aspect about the game which hopefully holds true as more information becomes available is that unlike all the other games there will not be any load screens between cities and islands. This means that you can practically play the whole game with out having to wait and load which would be amazing.

I cannot wait to play this came and control Nikko Bellic who has come to Liberty City to pursue the American Dream.
