Express Lane Emotion: Emoticons for Your Vehicle

Like the doc said, holding in emotion is not good for your health.  Bottling up the anger at being cut off on the road can drive a person mad if left to think about it all day.  Whether you want to “flip the bird” or flirt with the car next to you, Drivemocion can help animate your feelings while expressing them in a G-rated fashion.

It is an LED light system shaped like an emoticon face that affixes to your car window with a suction cup.  By pressing the buttons on the remote, you can change the “face” on your unit to express a range of emotions from happiness to anger.  And each “emotion” moves through a series of changes so it is quite noticeable.  For example, the angry emotion goes from mean look to teeth gritting to a shouting action.   Drivemocion allows you to keep your eyes on the road and hands (and all ten fingers) on the wheel all while letting others know how you really feel about them.

Last week a friend of mine was in a serious car accident. While driving on the highway, his vehicle’s tire exploded and it veered off to the side of the road into an embankment. Searching eBay Motors Faster

We are often asked if GetItNext can search eBay motors.  Well the answer is yes.  There is one tip you should know if you're looking to search for a car, truck or suv.   It's really simple, first type in the vehicle you're looking for, try Honda Accord and click search.  Now simply click the Categories drop down and select the category Accord under cars and trucks.   Once you do that you should be getting all Accords and have filtered out parts and accessories.  Of course if you want to find a specific year or model you can type that in to further fine tune the results and don't forget to use add and remove keywords to narrow your search results even more.  I like using remove keywords to take out the car colors that I don't like.

LOST...which GPS device is for you?

Do you feel like you need a GPS device just to locate the correct GPS device for you?  The choices are overwhelming: Garmin Nuvi 250, Tom Tom One XL, or Mio Moov 310.   The only similarity between the three - the 4.3 inch touch screen.  The larger the screen, the more map to view and the bigger the buttons on the screen.

The Garmin Nuvi 250 domes with preloaded maps of North America and points of interest (such as food, fuel, and hotels), eliminating set up time.  It has the longest battery life at an average of 5 hours.  The device, however, is not compatible with Windows  95, 98, and ME.

The Tom Tom One XL requires a software download before its first use.  It has blue tooth capabilities for subscription services such as real time traffic.  And it also has an sd slot for additional memory storage.  Battery life is average at 2 hours.  What it has that the other three do not - speed sensitive volume control.  This feature is convenient if you have sleeping passengers.

The most impressive device is the Mio Moov 310.  Beside the preloaded map of the 50 US states and Puerto Rico allowing use out of the box, the screen is viewable at most angles, and in the sun.  The device can also read approaching street signs so the driver can keep their eyes on the road and not on the device.  Plus, it takes the guesswork out of guessing how long a ¼ mile is before a turn.  It also finds turns in as little as 5 seconds which is convenient for city drivers who normally have trouble with tall buildings blocking signals with other GPS systems.  It also offers a real-time traffic subscription, and boasts a long battery life of 5 hours.

Gasoline Hits $2.79 Per Gallon in New Jersey

Gas prices in NJ are typically the lowest in the country and today I drove by a station that offered a cash price of $2.85 a gallon, I couldn't believe it.  So I checked NJ Gas Prices and the cheapest price is $2.79.  Now just 2 miles from the station I passed I saw another station charging, $4.19.  Talk about gouging, and unbelievably they had customers.
