Ah yes...the holiday season is upon us. I know this because I saw yet another commercial for a new Elmo doll. Fisher Price produces a new version of Elmo each year appealing to the next generation of customers. The original Tickle Me Elmo was cute and had buyers fighting at the shelves to purchase the doll for their children. That was followed by Hokey Pokey Elmo and Limbo Elmo with repetitive, and somewhat annoying, battery draining, monologues.
And now there is Elmo Live, the stand-up comic, interactive version of the furry red guy. Thus, proving Elmo is not just a one trick pony and can stand the test of time, at least in popularity reports of consumers age 3 and under. But has Fisher Price reached the Elmo pinnacle? Will they be able to develop a better Elmo product or have we hit Elmo overload? Only time will tell, but we forecast this will be in the top-10 Holiday Gift Choices for 2009.
