Having just bought Transformers- the movie on DVD, I felt compelled to write a short review about the movie - and one robot in particular. I grew up watching the Transformers series as a kid and remember how excited I was with each episode that aired. While my favorite character growing up was always Optimus Prime, this changed somewhat surprisingly when I watched the movie in theatres.
After watching the movie, I was disappointed to see that Optimus Prime never appeared with his full truck behind him. Optimus Prime Generation 1 featured an all-red body with blue/purple alloys with a large grey convoy box trailer attached to his back. While I was disappointed somewhat by the appearance of Prime, I was surprisingly impressed by Bumblebee.
When he first makes his appearance in the movie, Bumblebee appears as an old, broken down 1976 Camaro barely able to start. After a few scenes however, Bumblebee is reborn as a beautiful, shiny 2008/9 Camaro. His bright yellow body has two sporty black stripes dividing his hood and trunk area. One can't help admire the gigantic rims that are shining underneath the impressive body. I'm not a huge car fanatic, but the reborn Camaro is nothing short of magnificent. Not only is Bumblebee the most impressive Transformer 'object' in the movie, his robot form is equally impressive.
Take a look at these images. They show the new Bumblebee, the old Bumblebee and the Robot form as the film crew is getting him ready for action.
Ever since the movie came out, Transformers sales have soared - and you can bet that they will be very popular this holiday season. Get a head start this year and check out great deals on the most popular Transformers:
