I decided to write down the top 10 things I would consider doing if I was Matt Murphy. Who is that you ask? He's the guy that caught Barry Bonds historic record breaking #756 homerun ball. Here's my Top Ten list:
10 - See if BALCO would like to buy it so they can put it on display at their corporate headquarters.
9 - See if Bob Costas wants to buy it so he can have the last laugh on Barry.
8 - Have the ball tested to see if it tests positive for steroids.
7 - Give it to Barry's trainer Greg Anderson who is currently behind bars protecting Barry.
6 - Declare that you're keeping the ball and ask Barry to sign it for you.
5 - See if Bud Selig wants to buy it so he can bury it along with all the attention about Barry and juicing.
4 - Find out how much Barry is willing to pay for it, if it's fair value sell it to him plus some signed syringes.
3 - Contact the guys at Will it blend and see if they are willing to buy it for their killer viral marketing campaign. Tom Dickson can step aside and let Hank Aaron blend the ball.
2 - Cut it into pieces and sell each piece for thousands.
1 - Complete step 6, say you've changed your mind and auction it off on eBay or with a auction house IMMEDIATELY. The sooner this ball sells the better. The balls value will continue to decline as Barry keeps hitting homeruns.
