If Barry Bonds hits his record breaking home run at the AT&T Park all the way into McCovey Cove, odds are a 56 year old software salesman will get it. How is it possible a 56 year old will beat out all the other kayakers? Well this isn't a normal 56 year old, Larry Ellison has demonstrated his paddling skills by scooping up two of Bonds' previous milestone homers from his kayak.
Ellison isn't just lucky, he's smart. A self professed Urkel, Larry knows exactly what he's doing in the cove. He floats in an orange lightweight kevlar kayak that allows Larry to cut through the water faster than any other vessel. Ellison also keeps a close eye on every pitch on a laptop that is attached to his kayak. He also listens to the radio broadcast which allows him to know how pitchers are throwing to Bonds so he can adjust his kayak accordingly. Ellison also works without a net and is an expert paddler. For # 661, a kayaker got close to him and missed the ball with his net. Ellison didn't miss it, he scooped it up like he has some many times in the past. The technique has enabled Ellison to snag five splash cove game balls.
