I continue to be thoroughly impressed with the book so far. I promised I am going to blog my impressions of the final book chapter by chapter. However, I'm not intending to give away any plot twists per se and I don't want to ruin the book for others.
Chapter 2 - In Memoriam
Harry is of course once again at the Dursley's for the summer. As Harry begins packing up his things in preparation for never again having to return to Privet Drive he begins to read the Daily Prophet. There he reads a lengthy obituary about the life and times of Albus Dumbledore.
Harry's deep affection for Dumbledore and his feeling of lose is palpable and obvious throughout the chapter. However, this period of mourning quickly turns to outrage when he discovers that Rita Skeeter has written a supposed "tell-all" about Dumbledore that besmirches Dumbledore's good name. However, more importantly it plants a seed of doubt in Harry. Did he REALLY know Dumbledore? Then he considered the source - Rita and determines it's all a pack of lies.
