Well it looks like my blog on Sept 8th with a mock-up pic is really close to the real deal, minus the lace up collar. I have to admit I'm really torn on this jersey. If they had added the bottom stripes I think I would be fine it. I think they tried to keep it plain in order to make it look old school. However there are other things they could have done to give it that old school feel.
One of the old school touches would have been to drop the plain leaf and bring back the vintage leaf. They also could have added a laced collar. I know that laced collars are so IN 
vogue these days, I actually think that only original 6 teams should be allowed to have them. Laces on the Leafs jersey are such a classic because there are only two colors and the laces would provide a nice contrast. If they really wanted to go old school they should have brought back the high collar, but I'm sure the NHL wouldn't have allowed that as the huge NHL collar logo would look out of place. One thing I really like is the color contrast at the end of the sleeves, thats a nice subtle touch for fans. I say for fans because on players it won't be seen as the sleeves will be tucked into their gloves.

My daily commute is now via the New Jersey transit train system. Its not bad, except for the 3 times in the
past 2 weeks the train broke down. But
there is one thing that is killing me and that is that I can’t listen to XM
204. As my family and friends can attest
the navigation screen in my car rarely ever tunes to a different XM
channel. Man do I miss Mike Bossy in the
morning during hockey this morning, In the Slot in the afternoon with Tatti and
Espo. Heck I even miss hearing Dennis
Potvin in the mornings. XM needs to develop some kind of sling box for my cell phone or iPod so I can listen during my
train ride. Now that’s something I would
buy.
