For all of you knocking the Buffalo Sabres, please step back
from the ledge. Brian Campbell was
adamant about getting a 6-7 year deal at 6.5 million per season. This guy is simply not worth it. The Sabres were only willing to go 3-4 and
were offering in the 5.75 range, more than fair. I know Campbell played really well last spring but the games I watched this season he looked
horrible against the Rangers. Add in his minus 1 this year and Campbell is clearly not worth the contract he is demanding.
It will be interesting to see if the San Jose Sharks lock him up long term or if he hits the open market. The Sabres now need to focus on locking up Ryan Miller long term. If they fail to do that its going to be a dark time in Buffalo.
