As many of you know I like to save money (yes I've been called cheap). I wanted to share with everyone a tip that you may or may not know about. When making a large purchase I go through an extensive research process in order to figure which product is the best one for the money. Once I decide on the product I then start researching where to find the best price. Many times the product is the same price or is only sold by one store or manufacturer. When this happens I do a quick search for coupon codes via the google if none are found or if I can stack coupons I check and see if I can purchase a coupon. Purchase a coupon? Yes, it wasn't a typo, let me explain.
So you're about to do some major upgrades to the house and you know you're about to drop a couple thousand at your local home depot or lowes. You've been scanning the circulars and the items you want are marked down but you still want to save more. Well here's the tip, people sell thousands of coupons on eBay, typically all of them are transferable and you can usually save 10-20%. So that trip to home depot that was going to cost you $2000.00 before taxes might only cost you $1600 if you can slap a 20% coupon on top of the transaction. Typically I purchase coupons for $2-$10 on eBay.
More coupon tips:
-Competitor coupons are usually accepted, example Lowes always accepts my Home Depot coupons and vice versa. When in doubt just ask before going to the register with that big ticket item.
-If buying online always search for coupon codes to insert if you can't find any check and see if they will accept physical coupons and do a search for coupon deals.
-Read the fine print, expiration dates, maximum purchase etc.
-Do the math to make sure it makes sense to buy a coupon.
-Only buy coupons that you are definitely going to use.

Nice article about home depot coupons. We can rely on these coupons for fabulous discounts than gifts. I got an electric fire place at home depot for which I got a hope depot coupon worth $500.
