Toyota Prius $500 Price Increase For 2009 Model

Toyota Motor announced on Friday it will raise the US suggested MSRP on its hot Prius hybrid in 2009 by $500.  The price increase represents a 2.2% increase over the 2008 Prius.  I guess the ole supply and demand are the major reason as Prius sales have actually declined as Toyota has not been able to keep up with demand in 2008.

Honda Unveils Awesome OSM Roadster Concept

Honda officially unveiled a gorgeous drop top at the London Auto show.  The 2 seat roadster is a concept vehicle and has not been green lighted for production, yet.

The clean and fresh lines represent a new look for Honda and one that is visually striking.  Unfortunately Honda has ruled out that the OSM would replace the S2000 which is in need of redo.  My advice to Honda is they should fast track this car as soon as they can.                                                      

            

2009 BMW 7 Series Pic and Preview

The newly remodeled BMW 7-series is coming to North America it looks really sharp.  The big Beemer will be packing a twin turbo V-8 or a eco crushing 6.0 liter V-12.  I guess BMW owners laugh at $4 gallons. 

As expected it comes loaded with super high tech gadgets such as the next generaton iDrive (boo), a 10 inch navigation display, active blind detection, optional 4 wheel steering and night vision detection to name a few.

2009 CTS-V Fastest Production Sedan Ever

GM is claiming that its all new 2009 CTS-V will be the fastest production sedan ever.  I guess they solved the wheel hop issue of the old CTS-V... 

Cadillac is boasting that the new CTS-V finished a lap at the Nordschleife course in Germany in under 8 minutes.  The super caddy will have a LSA supercharged 6.2 liter stuffed under the hood which will produce at least 550-hp.  Buyers who can afford the gas will be offered a 6 speed manual or automatic tranny.  Hot car, but is the timing right?  We'll find out this fall when production starts.  What do you think will the sexy V series flop or sizzle?

New 2010 Chevy Camaro Will Get 26 MPG with 300 HP V-6

General Motors (GM) has announced that its 2010 Camaro will get 26 mpg on the highway.  The car was unveiled on Monday bringing the muscle car back to life which was a forgone conclusion based on the smashing reviews at auto shows and the investment of placing the Camaro in The Transformers Movie.  The new muscle car will hit dealers in the fall of 2009.

Of the course the 26 mpg car will be the 300 HP v6 and not the v8 version.  GM will offer a 3.6 liter in the LS and LT models and a V-8 6.2 in the tire ripping SS model.  Even the V-8 will get 23 mpg on the highway which isn't too shabby for a 400hp V-8.  GM's target market is enthusiasts and younger buyers, hmm glad to see nothing has changed.  Looks like the car unveiled today is similar to the 06' show car.
